Aventurine is a quartz variety and comes in blue, green and red. The name comes from the Italian a Ventura, a type of glass discovered around 1700. The name was given to the gemstone because of its resemblance to this glass, with its iridescent sparkle at uneven depths. The glasses have a nice set of blue-green/turquoise lenses.
